We run a series of online sessions for parents with an Autistic child or young person. We run groups for pre-school, school age and teens throughout the year. The sessions are run jointly by Jennifer Warwick, speech and language therapist, Rachael McCarthy, clinical psychologist and Annmarie Sims, Occupational therapist from The Learning Clinics. The aims of the sessions are to build parents’ understanding of autism spectrum condition and their confidence to support their young person. They also provide an opportunity to meet other parents. We cover the following topics depending on the age of your child.
Understanding ASC and common co-occurring conditions
Supporting your young person in a neurodiversity affirming framework
Supporting communication and building positive interactions
Mental health and emotion regulation
Executive functioning (planning and organising skills)
Sessions take place in the evening over a period of 3 weeks and are recorded to make it easier for you to attend or catch up if you are unable to make a session.
